Gear Review: Lobster Gloves

Pearl Izumi Pro Softshell Lobster Gloves

When the temperature drops and I have a hankering to dodge some tourists on the Brooklyn Bridge while riding my aluminum steed, there’s one pair of gloves that I know will keep my digits warm & toasty - the Pearl Izumi Pro Softshell Lobster Gloves.

These fleece lined gloves feature a split mitt design to make you look like an alien and provide extra warmth along with lightweight Primaloft® insulation. Most importantly, there’s a soft fleece patch on both thumbs that allow for the comfortable wiping of… everything.

I’ve worn these down into the teens and my hands have never been more sweaty on a bike. There are also multiple patches of reflective material to increase visibility and a hook and loop closure to ensure that you don’t drop a glove while shaking your fist at the cabbie that almost dropped you.

Stop using cold fingers as an excuse for not riding during the winter; buy yourself a fleecy lobster.
