Hudson River Sea Kayaking & Bald Eagle Search

Sea kayaking adventure on the Hudson River in New York, and spot some eagles

Ready for a sea kayaking adventure? Join us on the mighty Hudson River for 3.5 hours of paddling and a stop near bald eagle nests to spot these magnificent birds of prey. After an open water paddling workshop, you will be ready to navigate the waters of the Hudson River. With fast moving current, dynamic hydraulic conditions, unique sites and history, the Hudson river estuary is truly a world class sea kayaking resource providing an unlimited amount of on-water fun. We’ll be paddling through a beautiful section of the Hudson, near West Point and Storm King.

Skill Requirements

You need to have some experience kayaking, be confident in the water and know how to swim. Good core strength and endurance are required. Example: If you can do 20 push ups, if you work out three or more times per week, or practice yoga, you will be fine.

Kayaks will be sit-on-top sea kayaks which are very stable, or classic “sit inside” decked kayaks with spray skirt (more experienced kayakers). The return may bring us some headwinds, so a good workout is guaranteed. You must be taller than 4’10” to participate.
There is guaranteed to be wake from passing ships and ferries, strong current and tidal surge. Please carefully consider your abilities before signing up.

All gear is included: kayak, paddles, life jacket, spray skirt (if needed).

Testimonials

Thanks for a great mountain biking trip on Saturday! Your guys are real stars, they created a fantastic day of mountian biking that I’d never have been able to achieve by myself. They were great guides, who knew their stuff, knew the terrain, and were great bike handlers. They were superfast when needed, and also smart enough to be slow when that was required. They were also punctual and conscientious. I’d do it again in a second, it was worth the money. Keep up the good work, and I'll use your services again in the near future. — Philip
