During our second annual Outdoor Rise, we had the privilege of hosting our very own guide and professional mountaineer, Florian Hill.
Florian was raised in the mountains of Austria and Germany, but it wasn't until later in life that he discovered mountaineering. In his inspiring talk mixed with vivid photography and videos, Florian took us through the tough decisions mountaineers face. Life-threatening consequences mixed with isolation from relationships are the price to setting challenging new routes in South America and the rugged ranges in Alaska.
Florian led his presentation with humility that was gripping, somewhat terrifying and surprisingly human. To hear such an authentic perspective was truly inspiring.
Proceeds from Florian's event went to the Discover Outdoors Foundation
which takes deserving inner-city students on life-changing wilderness adventures.
