What are you training for? Whether it’s a hike, climb, paddle, run, or ride, Adventure Fit is a full body workout designed to prepare you for your outdoor adventures. Using a combination of sports-specific and overall fitness training, you will build strength, agility, stamina, coordination and dynamic flexibility.
Each class begins with a thorough warm up, followed by circuit training, activity targeted exercises, functional movements, and body awareness drills that will prepare you for the challenges of rock, dirt, water, ice or snow. Utilizing a variety of terrain including natural and manmade structures, Central Park serves as the Adventure Fit workout playground.
Adventure Fit is suitable for all levels- each exercise is demonstrated with modifications to ensure you are working to your greatest potential.

Meet Shannon MacDowell
Shannon MacDowell is an established New York City fitness and outdoor sports trainer, instructor, and guide. A former professional dancer, she trains and teaches at leading NYC gyms including Elysium Fitness and Uplift Studios. Working in the world class paddling conditions of New York Harbor and the Hudson River, Shannon is also a skilled and dedicated stand up paddle board guide and instructor for the Manhattan Kayak Company. Inspired by the incredible growth of the sport world-wide, Shannon co-founded Suplogix LLC, a research group dedicated to studying the biomechanics of stand up paddle boarding.
Born and raised in the rugged terrain of south central Alaska, Shannon’s love of outdoor adventure stems from a childhood spent skiing, hiking, sea kayaking, and trail running. Her passion for reconnecting her clients to nature is combined with a focus on alignment, functional movement and performance training. Shannon holds certifications from ACE, the Kane School for Pilates, and a BFA from Rutgers University.

- If you show up to all four classes you get an automatic 50% refund. That’s $78 back for committing to get in shape.

Season Bet on Yourself
- Commit to changing your life by working out with us every Monday night for 16 weeks.
- If you come to every single class, we’ll refund 100% of the cost.
- If we cancel a class, it won’t count against you. Absolutely no other excuses.

HOW IT WORKS
When you register with the “Fundraise for a cause” option, we will ask you by email what charity you would like to support. If you choose the Discover Outdoors Foundation, your fundraising commitment is $7,500. In exchange for your effort and commitment, the cost of the trip is covered at no cost, minus your airfare and personal expenses. You will receive a fundraising commitment letter, giving you the support and tools for reaching your goal. DISCOVER OUTDOORS FOUNDATION
The Discover Outdoors Foundation began in 2012 with a singular focus: increasing graduation rates in our urban schools through education experienced in the outdoors. Inspired by the positive impact our for-profit business, Discover Outdoors, was making through our youth leadership program, we soon felt compelled to serve our entire community, not just those who could afford it. Since then, the path of students has taken a different course; one that leads to a diploma and a brighter future.
