Stunning views and New York wine to taste

Begin the day with a scenic drive through the beautiful Hudson Valley foliage, replete with the inevitable team games. When we reach the trailhead, we’ll take off and experience beautiful vistas and wildlife as we trek to our destination. Once there, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch before hiking out to celebrate the day. We will head to one of New York’s finest wineries for a sampling of the season.

Meet your guides at Paragon Sports in Union Square, 867 Broadway at west 18th street.
Subways: L, N, Q, R, 4, 5, 6 to Union Square.

ITINERARY

8:30    Greetings and board the van
8:45    Departure and scenic drive to Storm King State Park
10:15  Guided hike with summit lunch
2:00    Wine Tasting
4:00    Depart for NYC
6:00    Arrive home (timing dependent on traffic)

Intensity Level

Level 3

EASY ACTIVE — PERFECT FOR ACTIVE FIRST-TIMERS

Level 3 trips will give you a broad sense of what hiking is all about. Test yourself on intermediate terrain, including light rock scrambles and ascending multiple peaks. The trips will invigorate you and inspire you to continue strengthening your hiking skills.

ACTIVITY

Three to five hours is standard. Prepare for the trip by jogging three miles or exercising two or three days a week.

DISTANCES

Plan on getting starter miles under your belt. You’ll be hiking three to six miles on this trip, the average distance run in an hour-long basketball game.

SURFACES

You’ll be hiking on rolling terrain with bare rock surfaces, steeps, roots and small boulders.

ELEVATION CHANGE

There could be up to 1,000 feet per day.

ALTITUDE

Up to 4,500 feet.
