Gear Review: Big Agnes Air Core

Wednesday, March 7, 2012
Air Core: the comfortable sleeping pad.

This pool float twin may take 25 breaths or so to blow up, but once you find yourself supine the work will be well worth it. I used a Big Agnes Air Core during my four month Appalachian Trail odyssey, a Long Trail quest and even at a pajama party a couple of weeks ago.

The Air Core provides 2.5 inches of loft to ensure that side sleepers wake-up without bruised hips and sore shoulders. It's made from a durable nylon material to prevent punctures and Big Agnes is known for their customer service if a blowout does occur.

Sleep tight.

Tip- Place dots of crazy glue on a sleeping pad to prevent nap-time slippage.
