It's summer and it's hot out. Everyone in New York is painfully aware of this reality. We're sweating on subways, street corners, and unairconditioned apartments. Yet, even though everyone
is hot as hell and it's impossible to stop the impending "beads" of heat manifested in liquid form everyone seems to still pretend they aren't sweating. It's unprofessional and it definitely doesn't match with stilettos, so it's fair to say that sweat just doesn't' match with the office furniture of NYCs professional (and air conditioned) interiors.
Luckily for us, we get to go outside every weekend. Not outside into the stuffy heat of car exhaust but outside into the woods and on the rivers where sweat is revered because it means you're having a great time. Instead of using paper towels to wipe off the traces of our bodies natural cooling system, we drink more water and encourage it. It's natural and it feels good.
In conclusion: go outside (we mean really outside
) because you'll be able to sweat freely. It's America after all.
Happy Fourth of July.
