If you're arriving from outside of New York, please plan to arrive in NYC in the day prior to our departure. Flights out of NYC should depart no earlier than 10:30 pm on the final day.

Weather in the upstate region of New York is typically much cooler than in New York City or other urban areas. Daytime temperatures in May typically reach highs in the 60s or 70s. Evening temperatures may reach as low as the 40s. Rain is not uncommon. Layers are recommended to adapt to such a broad temperature range.

If you choose to camp, your home for the weekend will be Taughannock Falls State Park. Campers are asked to bring their own tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads or they can rent any items for an additional fee. Our group will be sharing campsites and all meals at camp will be prepared by your guides. The campground has bathhouses with toilets and showers.

If you choose to stay in hotels, we will book you into the charming Idlwilde Inn or similar. Dinner reservations and winery tours can be made upon request.

Previous hiking or biking experience is recommended but is not required for this trip as long as you have a basic level of fitness and are used to being active on a regular basis. To prepare for this trip, we recommend taking hikes rated easy to moderate or going for long walks two or three times a week.
