About the trip

Trails, vineyards, and valleys

The stunning Finger Lakes region is home to some of New York's most beautiful landscapes and best wineries. Spend the weekend exploring them all, with plenty of time to relax by the campfire. Just a four and a half hour drive from the city, your home for the weekend is at Taughannock Falls State Park, a stunning natural gem neslted on the shores of Cayuga Lake.

Upon arriving at camp, you'll have plenty of time to explore the area with your guide and pay a visit to the 215 foot waterfall for a splash in the cool water. Tonight's dinner is a gourmet fire cooked meal prepared by your guides. The next day will begin with a casual hike through Finger Lakes National Forest where you'll wander past gorges and ravines and through pastures and woodlands. After a picnic lunch, it's off to wine country! You'll visit some of the most exceptional wineries in the area to sample the vintages and learn about the area's history. Back at camp, you'll sleep well after a hearty dinner. Monday will be spent exploring the shores of Cayuga Lake on bike with a twenty mile ride along the Black Diamond Rail Trail. After a quick stop at a nearby Farmer's Market, you'll be ready to start on your way back home.
