About the trip

Make new memories in nature

What We Love

  • Peaceful and scenic nature hike
  • Family friendly adventure
  • See wolves up close
  • Learn about wildlife

Your Day

Join us as we leave the hustle and bustle of Manhattan for the quiet trails and beautiful tree-filled scenery of the Hudson Valley. We'll start the day with a short nature hike through vibrant Ward Pound Ridge. As you meet new friends among the group, we'll take breaks for discoveries, stretching and of course snacks. After our hike, the adventure continues at the Wolf Conservation Center. We'll learn all about the center's conservation efforts, watch wolves in their natural habitat (from behind a secured perimeter), and even learn how to howl!

Perfect for: First time hikers and families, experienced hikers seeking a relaxing pace, animal lovers

Level 2

Relaxed, Mellow

Level 2 trips complement introductory activities you would encounter on Level 1 trips and will whet the appetite of anybody looking to explore outdoor sports. Your group may stop occasionally to learn about the natural surroundings and their local lore.

You can expect to be active for two to three hours. Take a long walk around your local park for at least two hours to prepare.

Level 2 trips range from two to four miles. This is approximately eight to sixteen laps around a quarter-mile track.

You’ll be walking on mostly flat terrain and may encounter some rocks and tree roots.

Elevation Change

There will be minimal elevation change on this trip. We will gain no more than 500 vertical feet.

From sea level to 3,000 feet.

Weather conditions can be quite different from the city in the mountainous regions we visit. Temperatures can be quite cooler as we head north or to higher elevations. Keep your eyes out for an email from our team a few days in advance of your trip. That email will provide updated weather conditions and will alert you to anything additional you should put in your pack to prepare. We head outside in any weather, as long as we know it's safe, and we don't let a little rain or wind ruin a chance for an adventure. You can contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions about preparing for trail conditions.
