Please plan to arrive in NYC in the day prior to our departure. Flights out of NYC should depart no earlier than 10:30 pm. If you are flying and would like to drive to meet us at camp, flights to Portland, Maine are the most convenient.

We'll be staying at Knubble Bay Camp, a brand new post-and-beam cabin nestled on the coast. The cabin will be occupied exclusively by our group. Our cabin does not have running water or electricity, however interior lights are powered by solar energy and a nearby hand pump provides potable, fresh water. The cabin is not heated, although a wood stove provides warmth for drying gear and comfort for tired paddlers. Meals will be cooked by your Discover Outdoors guides, accounting for all dietary restrictions. At night, we'll retire to our bunk rooms; mattresses are provided but guests are asked to bring their own sleeping bags.

Daytime temperatures in the Maine summer are typically in the 70s. Evenings may get down to the mid 50s by the water.

Previous ocean kayaking experience is preferred, but not required for this adventure. It does, however, require a moderate level of physical fitness for hiking and paddling. Give yourself adequate time to prepare, particularly if these forms and intensity of exercise are new. Personalized training recommendations are available for registrants.
