About the trip

The Berkshires' famous falls

What We Love

  • Beautiful waterfalls
  • Stunning views of the Hudson Valley
  • Hike in two states
  • Interesting history and stories of the area

Your Day

Take a trip to the Berkshires of New York and Massachusetts and experience one of the region's gems. Bash Bish Falls stands sixty feet high just over the Massachusetts border and they are a sight to behold in any season. Today, we'll make our way to the lovely overlook at Sunset Rock. Our trail follows a flowing stream for much of the day, so be ready for some careful rock hopping with the assistance of your guide. After taking in views of the many surrounding mountain ranges, you'll return on a woods road to the trailhead, continuing on to see the massive falls. Your day concludes with time to take in the stunning feature while reflecting on your accomplishment.

Depending on trail conditions, snowshoes or microspikes may be required. If so, they will be provided by your guide.

Perfect for: Novice hikers looking for a challenge, experienced adventurers

Weather

Weather conditions can be quite different from the city in the mountainous regions we visit. Temperatures can be expected to be quite cooler as we head north or to higher elevations and we'll likely encounter more snow accumulation between early winter and spring. Keep your eyes out for an email from our team a few days in advance of your trip. That email will provide updated weather conditions and will alert you to anything additional you should put in your pack to prepare. Your guide will also make sure you have the necessary gear, such as snowshoes or microspikes, so you can have a great day in the snow. We head outside in any weather, as long as we know it's safe, and we don't let a little snow or wind ruin a chance for an adventure. You can contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions about preparing for trail conditions.
