About the trip

A fun river adventure

What We Love

  • A day on the Lehigh River
  • Hit class I-III rapids
  • Observe unique wildlife
  • Take in beautiful scenery from a new perspective

Your Day

Join other water-loving New Yorkers on a ride down the thrill-packed Lehigh River. Our licensed whitewater guides will take you on a 3.5 to 4 hour ride down a 12-mile stretch of class I-III rapids. Managed by the Army Corps of Engineers, thousands of gallons of water will be released into the river. Surrounded by protected woodlands and mountains, you will enjoy outstanding scenery and wildlife. This is an area with a great diversity of plants and animals including great blue herons, mergansers, and kingfishers just to name a few. It will come as no surprise that this is where naturalist and painter John James Audubon visited to paint birds. We'll paddle over 17 rapids, stopping to swim and rest along the way. Your guide will brief you on the techniques of whitewater rafting. After that, you'll be set loose on the river, with guides in kayaks monitoring everyone's progress.

Please note, rafting guide gratuity is not included. If you have a great day, please tip your rafting guides before departing the compound.

Perfect for: First time rafters, experienced paddlers looking for a relaxing day

Weather

Weather conditions can be quite different from the city in the mountainous regions we visit. Temperatures can be quite cooler as we head north or to higher elevations. Keep your eyes out for an email from our team a few days in advance of your trip. That email will provide updated weather conditions and will alert you to anything additional you should put in your pack to prepare. We head outside in any weather, as long as we know it's safe, and we don't let a little rain or wind ruin a chance for an adventure. You can contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions about preparing for trail conditions.
