Explore the Iconic Sierra

There is no American landscape more iconic than the Yosemite valley. From the massive walls of El Capitan to the flowing Vernal Falls, the views are simply unparalleled. Beyond the valley, though, the Sierra Mountains are home to stunning landscapes and some of the largest living organisms on the planet. It's no wonder that these destinations were the inspiration for the creation of the National Park Service.

On this six day adventure, we'll visit three of our the nation's crown jewels Sequoia, Kings Canyon, and Yosemite National Park. We'll hike through groves of ancient and massive Sequoia trees, take in stunning views atop Mono Rock, travel into the heart of the Grand Canyon of the West, and marvel at the rock formations and waterfalls that have mesmerized artists for centuries.

Basic Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Pinehurst, Three Rivers, or Mammoth Lakes. Transfer available upon request from San Francisco, Las Angeles, Las Vegas
Day 2: Explore Sequoia National Park. Visit General Grant Tree, hike through Giant Forest, climb Mono Rock.
Day 3: Drive through Kings Canyon. Short hike in Zumwalt Meadow.
Day 4: Hike in Yosemite. Transfer to Fish Camp, Mariposa, or Groveland
Day 5: Full day in Yosemite Valley. Final evening dinner.
Day 6: Transfer to airport, departure.

This is the perfect trip for experienced hikers looking for a challenging backcountry experience. We recommend this trip for participants who have a moderate to high level of fitness and basic outdoor skills. Previous backpacking experience and exposure to alpine conditions is helpful but is not required. Those will a base level of fitness are encouraged to train for about three months prior to the trip.
